ABOUT
Ammanda Major
MA (consultative supervision), AccCOSRT(sup), AccCOSRT(sen)
Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to helping therapists feel informed, supported, and confident in their work. After more than two decades providing psychosexual and relationship therapy and supervision, three years as a COSRT trustee and co creation of ATSAC followed by eight years as Relate’s clinical quality director, I understand the importance of a reflective, reliable space where practitioners can think clearly and feel held within a framework of clinical rigour and evidenced based practice.
Alongside my clinical work, I was the Relate Agony Aunt, a role that enabled me to help people with all types of sex, family and relationship problems. I’ve also contributed to many publications who asked for comment on a wide variety of relational topics. All my experiences have deepened my belief that relationships are the bedrock of everything we do and why providing thoughtful, ethical, and compassionate support for both clients and therapists alike is so important.
Today, through AJM Clinical Supervision, I work with qualified therapists, trainee practitioners, and provide consultancy to organisations seeking impartial and professional to help navigate complex situations such as client clinical complaints and the development of clinical standards in couple work. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in real clinical experience and understanding.
I am a COSRT senior accredited sex and relationship therapist and a COSRT accredited supervisor (reg. no.1832.) I am registered with the ICO (reg. no. ZC061765), fully insured through Howden and have my own supervision with an accredited COSRT supervisor in place.

Throughout my career, I’ve been committed to helping therapists feel informed, supported, and confident in their work. After more than two decades providing psychosexual and relationship therapy and supervision, three years as a COSRT trustee and co-creator of ATSAC (the Association for the treatment of sexual addiction and compulsivity) followed by eight years as Relate’s clinical quality director, I understand the importance of a reflective, reliable space where practitioners can feel held within a framework of clinical rigour and evidenced based practice.
Alongside my clinical work, I was the Relate Agony Aunt, a role that enabled me to help people with all types of sex, family and relationship problems. I’ve also contributed to many publications that asked for comment on a wide variety of relational topics. All my experiences have deepened my belief that relationships are the bedrock of everything we do, and why providing thoughtful, ethical, and compassionate support for therapists alike is so important.
Today, through AJM Clinical Supervision Ltd, I want to work with qualified therapists, trainee practitioners, and provide consultant supervision to supervisors. I also offer one-to-one training sessions on all aspects of couple therapy. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in real clinical experience and understanding.
I hold a master’s degree in consultative supervision, I am a COSRT senior accredited sex and relationship therapist, and a COSRT accredited supervisor (reg no.1832.) I am registered with the ICO (reg. no. ZC061765), fully insured through Howden, and have my own supervision with an accredited COSRT supervisor in place.
Why work with me...
I’ve done the job myself and understand what it’s like to feel discombobulated, anxious, or just plain stuck with whatever clients may be bringing. As we know though, these feelings often offer rich opportunities for deeper understanding of the client’s story and how the therapist is relating to it.
I offer any supervisee a warm, collaborative (and sometimes challenging) approach with which to work through the complexities and conundrums of their work and reach the most effective interventions for their clients.
