How I support Therapists
Clinical supervision for qualified and accredited therapists and students on accredited courses, alongside consultant supervision for supervisors. I also offer one-to-one and small group training, as well as independent support for counselling organisations dealing with complex client complaints and clinical competence concerns.
Core services
Clinical Supervision
Clinical Supervision for qualified and accredited therapists or those actively working towards accreditation with a professional body.
Clinical supervision is at the heart of my work. I provide a collaborative, thoughtful space where you can explore complex cases, ethical dilemmas, emotional responses, and all the subtleties of relational work. My approach is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic thinking, systemic ideas, CBT, and more than 25 years of specialist clinical client and clinical governance experience.
I aim to support you not only in understanding your clients, but in understanding yourself within the work — helping you deepen your clinical awareness and maintain a strong ethical foundation.

How I can help you
- Experienced support with challenging cases
Together we’ll explore patterns, process, and meaning so you can move forward with clarity and in the best interests of your clients.
- Ethical grounding during dilemmas
I help you think through difficult decisions with both compassion and professional rigour.
- Insight into countertransference
Understanding your own reactions strengthens your therapeutic presence and effectiveness.
- Space for your long-term development
Supervision isn’t just oversight — it’s about who you are becoming as a therapist.
- A contained, confidential environment
You’ll have a safe space to bring the work that feels heavy, uncertain, or emotionally demanding.
Support for Students & Trainee Therapists
Supporting trainees is a part of my work that I value deeply. Beginning clinical practice can feel both exciting and overwhelming, and I aim to create a learning environment where questions are welcomed and curiosity is encouraged.
With my background in training, assessment, and clinical leadership, I help students develop confidence, understand therapeutic process, and build a strong ethical and professional foundation.

What I offer to students
- Clear guidance on client work and process
Helping you develop clinical understanding as you grow into the role.
- Support with training requirements
We’ll work together to meet both academic and placement expectations.
- A warm, encouraging space
There’s no such thing as a “daft question” - this is where you learn and develop your own critical thinking.
- Ethical clarity from the start
Early grounding in clinical standards helps you feel safer and more assured and supports emergent evidence of good practice with clients.
- A stable foundation for your future practice
My aim is to help you qualify with confidence and resilience and with a keen understanding of what you do well and areas that require development.
Supervision for Supervisors
I offer consultancy to supervisors because supervisors need a place to reflect on their work with supervisees. Being a supervisor can feel risky and demanding of your skills and expertise. I provided many years of supervision and support to a team of senior practice consultants within a national organization who were responsible for implementing clinical standards with hundreds of practitioners. I understand the complexities and challenges involved in ensuring practitioners are working to the highest clinical standards.
My approach is to provide consultancy that supports your own supervisory practice and help you to deliver the best possible service to your supervisees.
One to One and Small Group Training Sessions
Whether you’re a student struggling with the basics or an experienced practitioner wanting a space to revisit learning on a specific area of couple work, I can provide you with a tailored session to explore the topic in question.
This service is definitely not supervision and in no way replaces any current supervision arrangements you already have in place. Rather, it’s simply an opportunity to ‘top up’ your knowledge base on things like contracting with clients, domestic abuse in couple relationships, and assessment.

You might be
wondering ...
What is clinical supervision?
Clinical supervision is a confidential, reflexive space where you can explore your client work, professional development, and the emotional impact of your practice on you. My role is to support (and sometimes to challenge) your thinking, ethical decision-making and case management so that the welfare and safety of your clients and your wellbeing as a practitioner are at the forefront of your work.
If I’m seeing couples, do I really need a supervisor who is also couples trained?
It’s not compulsory, but it can help, and some organizations and professional bodies insist upon it. Couple therapy is a complex undertaking and very different from working with just one client in the room. A supervisor who is fully trained and experienced in both providing therapy to couples and supervising couple therapists is likely to bring in-depth knowledge, understanding, and experience to your supervision.
Who do you work with?
I work with accredited therapists, therapists working towards accreditation with a professional body, and trainee therapists.
My services are designed for professionals - not for clients seeking personal therapy.
Do you provide therapy or treatment?
No. My work is solely focused on supervision and consultant supervision. I do not provide therapy or treatment through this website.
What approach do you use in supervision?
My approach is integrative, drawing on psychodynamic, systemic, and cognitive perspectives alongside the learning from over 32 years in psychosexual and relationship therapy and clinical governance and leadership.
How often do supervision sessions take place?
This varies according to your professional body requirements, training standards, or organisational policies. We can discuss a schedule that supports your work while meeting the expectations of your professional body.
Can you help me with complex or sensitive client situations?
Yes - supervision is the appropriate place to explore challenging or emotionally demanding cases as well as discussing and celebrating what’s going well.
We can think together about clinical process, be curious together about what we don’t yet understand and consider the best way for you to create an effective therapeutical alliance with your clients based on sound professional judgment and ethical decision making.
Do you work with students or trainees?
Yes. Supporting trainees is an important part of my work. I offer guidance on client work, ethical practice, and meeting training requirements, always in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Do you offer supervision for individual work with children or young people?
No. I offer supervision of clinical work relating to individuals, couples, and multi-partnered groups who seek therapy about relational issues.
Do you offer supervision in person or online?
My usual delivery method is via zoom or Teams.
Do you offer complete confidentiality?
The usual rules apply. My work with supervisees is confidential unless I become seriously concerned about competence and/or behaviour. I would take the necessary steps to share such a concern with the most appropriate authority.
How do I know if supervision with you is right for me?
You don’t! But you’re welcome to get in touch so we can discuss your needs and whether I am a good fit for you at this stage in your professional journey. There is no charge for an initial discussion.
How much do you charge?
My fees range between £50 and £120 an hour depending on your own client fee structure, whether qualified or a student or work independently or within an organization.
